Ivenpah Large Solar Array
The future depends on new energy sources. Until we figure out the whole fusion thing, solar seems to be the only tenable way forward. That's why I've taken an interest in learning more about large solar arrays like the one in San Bernardino County, CA--the Ivanpah Solar Power Facility. It's the largest concentrated solar thermal plant on the planet and it's in California's Mojave Desert. The project cost $2.2B and uses over 300,000 heliostats (mirrors) to focus solar rays onto three towers.
